GAUGE
5 dcs and 3.5 rows = 2” square

YARN NOTES
You’ll need one skein of Lion Brand Jiffy to complete this hat.

Each skein of Jiffy is:
3 oz (85 g)/ 135 yds (123 m)

Jiffy is classified as a #5 bulky but it is a pretty light weight bulky yarn so you should be able to easily obtain the correct gauge with a heavy weight worsted yarn such as Red Heart With Love and the like.

PATTERN NOTES
You will not count your beginning ch as a st. Always join with a slst to the first st of your rnd and always work the first st of each rnd into the first st of the previous rnd (which should be the SAME st that you joined into).

If your gauge matches mine then this will be a loose fitting hat that doesn’t mess up your hair and, in my opinion, it has the perfect amount of slouch when worn further back on your head. Pattern only comes in teen/adult size and starts at crown and works its way down to the brim.

Hi there! I have tried this pattern and it has come out pretty good. Except I just realised this is a US site and I am in the UK. Does that mean when you said to do Double Crochet, I should have done a Treble Crochet and single crochet, translated to Double crochet? I am quite confused.
